Biography
1942
Born in Wageningen the
Netherlands.
1943
Moves to Apeldoorn the
Netherlands.
1949
Moves to Medan Indonesia.
1953
Returns to the Netherlands.
1957
Studies at the technical
school with art teacher Mr. Bloothoofd. Becomes an active
participant in the Indo Rock Movement in the Netherlands,
with the formation of “The Sensation Shadows” and “Kasna
and the Archipel Rockers” where he was the lead singer.
1961
Serves in the army until
1963.
1963
Moves to Toronto, On. Canada.
Moves to Ayton, On. Canada.
Moves to Mount Bridges, On. Canada.
Moves to London, On. Canada.
1964
While working at a large
paint factory, starts to develop his art further and works
mostly with India Ink and working on Indonesian subject
matter.
1965
Comes in contact with
artists, John Kenear, Greg Curnoe, Bert Kloezeman.
1967
First Solo Ehibition at the
Shute Institute, London Ontario.
1968
Moves to Toronto, starts work
at the Royal Ontario Museum and starts working with
acrylics.
1969
Forms with Wedor Saldabron,
Gene Soderberg, Frode Maagaard, John Smeulders, Arie
Jansen, The Stimulistic Society, together they exhibit for
3 years in Ontario. Meets artist R. Rania, and Anton Cetin.
1970
Formation of a new group with
artists, Jorgina Hosek, Jiri Matousek, Bob Hajek and Gene
Soderberg. Meets Artists Jaroslav Hovadick and Ladislav
Guderna. Meets Dutch artist Henk Krijger (SENGIG) and works
together on sengig’s Lino-print series Psalms. Completes
Series on Canadian
Wild Life. Meets
Karel Appel. Solo Exhibition at the National Museum of the
Philippines.
1973
Moves to Mississauga, On.
Canada.
Completes Series on the Philippines.
1974
Completes Series
“Homage to Canada
and its Immigrants”
1976 Moves Los
Angeles, California, USA.
1977
Moves back to Mississauga,
Ontario Canada.
Completes first serigraph’s “The Geese” & “Papaya” in
printing studio in Los Angeles. Meets american artist
Arthur Secunda in Los Angeles.
1978
Meets Philippine artists
Manuel Rodriguez, Bert Hechanovaand, Norman Montifar and
Rol Lampitoc.
Solo Exhibition at the Keen Gallery in New York.
Travels to Mexico with Anton Centin and meets Mexican
artist Antonio Diaz Cortes.
1980
Completes new serigraph’s
with Rol Lampitoc.
1981
Starts the Formation of
“PANA”
( Philippino Artists in North America) with Rol Lampitoc,
Tony Doctor, Manuel Roderiguez, Bert Hechanova and Norman
Montifar.
Meets artist Husain from India.
Begins work on Tapistry Edition El Paso, Texas, USA
1982
PANA Exhibition tour 6 public
art galleries in Ontario, Ottawa, Windsor, Woodstock,
Grimsby, Cambridge and Toronto. Moves to Parramatta, NSW.,
Australia.
1983
Traveling solo exhibition
sponsored by the Queensland Arts Council,
(Brisbane, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay,
Townsville, Cairns.)
1984
Solo Exhibition at the Ramat
Gan Municipal Museum in Israel. Completes series on
“Australian
Butterflies”.
1985
Moves back to Mississauga,
Ontario, Canada.
1988
Completes series
“Love in Poetry
& Image”
Serigraph Portfolio. Meets Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo in
Mexico city.
1989 Completes
serigraph the “Huilers” for wildlife conservation organization
ECOMARA.In Texel the Netherlands.
1991 Major solo
exhibition at Nature Museum Kasteel Groeneveld in Baarn,

Completes series
“Childhood

Meets artists Jamal Gharbia,
Leszek Wyczolkowski, Wai Ming Cheung. The book “Sabelis
Symphony” written by Art Historian and Critic Wim van der
Beek is published. Formation of new group “PRISMA” with
(Jamal Gharbia, Leszek Wyczolkowski, Lydia Panart, Wai Ming
Cheung, Lynn Huntley and Kreso Cavlovic.)
